Information already available to the general public via our website
We currently make an extensive range of information routinely available to the public in relation to its functions and activities. Such information will continue to be available without the need to use the FOI Act. The FOI Act is designed to allow public access to information held by public bodies that is not routinely available from other sources.

Applications under the FOI Act 2000
Under the FOI Act, anyone is entitled to request information not otherwise publicly available. Please note that the FOI Act does not cover requests where you are asking for details relating to information about you as an individual. These requests will continue to be subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act. If you want to ask for information about yourself refer to the guidance on how to make a request for you personal details
When someone requests information under the FOIA, we are obliged to:
- inform the applicant whether we hold the information requested, subject to certain conditions and exemptions
- communicate that information to the applicant, again subject to certain conditions and exemptions.
We're obliged to respond in full to written requests for information within 20 working days of receipt of the request.
