Open Country: How the credit crunch is affecting Herefordshire

John Coleman, head of our Rural Places programme, appeared on Radio 4's Open Country on Saturday to talk about the effects of the credit crunch on Herefordshire, one of the most sparsely populated counties in England.


Hereford is ranked 30th in the index of multiple deprivation. It has pockets of severe poverty which is much more hidden and less easy to spot because of the sparse population of the county.
