Central Hall, Westminster

Our joint conference with Defra and Whitehall & Westminster World re-launched rural proofing as the tool to deliver the Government’s commitment to ensure effective rural mainstreaming – ensuring the needs of rural communities are met through mainstream policies.

The conference presented a unique and major opportunity for all those who have responsibility for policies that impact upon rural people, communities and economies, to come together and assess how they can meet their rural responsibilities.

"all those who have responsibility for policies that impact upon rural people, communities and economies, to come together and assess how they can meet their rural responsibilities." My comment on this is that those people actually speak up and tell it like it is, it might not always be what Government wants to hear and might not make you flavour of the month, but those who take the responsibility for rural problems have to make their voice heard. Good luck.
