Rural Life Conference 2008: Community empowerment in action

We're running a shared learning event with ACRE and the RCAN network about rural proofing Local Area Agreements at this year's two-day Rural Life Conference.
The workshop will discuss how lessons from our national rural proofing work might be used at the local level and to explore the potential for informing programme activity through issues that arise locally.
This event will trigger a series of cascaded workshops among Rural Community Councils in the regions, resulting in a publication of good practice examples and guidelines.
