We've just launched 'Rural Disadvantage: Reviewing the Evidence', a major baseline study exploring the difference living in rural areas makes to being ‘disadvantaged’. It reviews evidence on what rural disadvantage is and why it occurs, and examines what the information tells us about how policy responses are working in rural areas.

The report completes a package of work produced during our Disadvantage Study, including 'Rural Disadvantage: Priorities for Action', which sets out a clear strategy for tackling the issues identified in our evidence review, and 'Hidden Voices', a powerful short film giving voice to people facing disadvantage in rural areas.

Find out more about our Disadvantage Study and our on-going work on Disadvantage
