Post Offices in Rural Areas
Churches to help provide post office services
The Church of England has come up with an innovative solution to help rural communities keep post office services.
The Church of England, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church have worked closely with Post Office Ltd to identify opportunities for church buildings to host post office services to maintain their presence, particularly in isolated rural communities.

Hosted Post Offices can help rural communities to retain local post office services. Possible venues include village halls, churches and other buildings within the community. Others schemes include partner services in pubs and villages shops, mobile services and home services.
The Church of England, Methodist Church and United Reformed Church guidelines can also be used for other places of worship, or any building being considered for a hosted service.
