In addition to our annual State of the Countryside report we recognise the need for more detailed, topic-focused updates, produced as new data and information is released.

These State of the Countryside Updates will allow us to monitor key national rural indicators and to track change over time. The updates are also one way in which we fulfil our role as an independent watchdog.
